I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is somatically oriented and passionate about supporting women and girls to embody your authentic wholeness, develop sacred attachment with yourself, and engage in fulfilling, nourishing relationships with your intimate partners, families, and community. I offer individual therapy, dance and yoga classes, and women’s and girls’ circles.
As a therapist, I utilize an integrative approach depending on the client’s individual needs and life perspective. These approaches may include: depth psychology, somatic, attachment, relational gestalt, family systems, mindfulness and art therapy. My style is engaged, collaborative and compassionate. Being a European American woman who spent some of my childhood growing up in Oakland, CA., I have an understanding of myself as a cultural being and value, and continuously work to be, culturally competent. I have experience working with diverse communities and offer counseling services in Spanish. I believe in people’s innate wholeness and ability to connect with their own health and healing with compassionate, skillful support.
I earned my undergraduate degree in 2002 from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY where I studied psychology, dance and Spanish. I entered the counseling field in my early 20s when I began working for Seneca Family of Agenciesin the Bay Area, where I have worked in various roles from 2003 to present. Around the same time, I began dancing with Heather Munro Pierce, the originator ofTransDance®, and years later became a TransDance facilitator. I earned my graduate degree in Counseling Psychology from San Francisco State University in 2008. I then lived at the Esalen Institute from 2009-2011 where I studied Relational Gestalt Practice, taught TransDance®, and worked in the kitchen. In 2013, I became licensed as a Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT 53133). I completed my advanced level certification in Somatic Experiencing™ in 2015, a somatic modality to heal trauma (and daily life-stress) through regulating the nervous system. In 2017, I became a certified Yoga Teacher with Iris Lambert of Irie Yoga and currently teach alignment-based, vinyasa yoga classes.
I am a Sebastopol native and love living in Sonoma county with my beloved husband, where I am near family, friends, community and the beautiful land. Throughout my life I have been committed to my own journey of healing and wholeness and am honored to support others in doing this sacred and vital inner work.
I look forward to meeting you and hearing about your journey!
